Bright interior with wooden chairs, round side tables and a green sofa

Furniture trends 2026 show up mainly in colour, decor and finish, and you can check these directions at the source. Instead of guessing from Instagram, the catalogues of board manufacturers and the reports of colour institutes are enough. The EGGER 26+ collection, available since February 2026 (according to the distributor Abler), favours beiges and wood with a linear grain. Kronospan shows muted colours and matt finishes, and Pantone chose the white Cloud Dancer as its colour of the year.

Made-to-measure furniture stays in your home for years, so it helps to know where a trend comes from and whether it will last. We start with our own matrix: how many sources point to each direction and where the sources disagree. Then we turn it into decisions: a table to print, three combinations from our range and a list of things that may date quickly.

In short: furniture trends 2026 are the directions in colours, decors and finishes announced for the 2026 season by board manufacturers, Pantone and trade fair organisers. Across five sources (board manufacturers, Pantone and trade fairs), beiges and warm neutrals, warm wood, matt finishes and darker tones each appear at least three times.

How we know what is fashionable in 2026

The most reliable furniture trends for 2026 come from the manufacturers of furniture surfaces, from the Pantone colour institute and from trade fairs. We picked five such sources. Four of them have publication or collection availability dates between September 2025 and May 2026, although some novelties were shown earlier (the Bookmatch Oak won the Interzum Award 2025). Kronospan does not give a launch date for its trend collection on its website.

Source What it announced What it means for furniture (our interpretation)
EGGER, Decorative Collection 26+, available since February 2026 beiges in plain and stone decors, Italian-style wood, warm browns, the matt ST17 Omnipore Oiled structure beige or wooden fronts, matt instead of gloss
Kronospan, Kronodesign Trend Designing Reality four interior moods (Pause, Blend, Connect, Evolve), muted colours, matt finishes, Cremona and Primavera oaks calm neutral colours, oak with a warm tone
Pantone, Colour of the Year 2026, announced on 4 December 2025 PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, a lofty white white as a calm background for wood
Heimtextil Trends 26/27, trade fair in Frankfurt in January 2026 palette: sand, clay, soot, olive, tree bark earthy neutral colours and dark accents
Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026: reports by Schattdecor and Blum walnut with a lively, striped grain, travertine, matt natural textures, earthy colours walnut, matt finish, a tangible texture

Our matrix: how many sources point to each direction

We prepared this overview ourselves. For each direction, we checked which of the five sources in the table above mention it. We count Salone del Mobile (Schattdecor and Blum) as one source. The risk column is our own assessment, not manufacturer data.

Direction Who points to it Sources (of 5) Risk of looking dated (our assessment) Our decors
Beiges and warm neutral colours EGGER, Kronospan, Heimtextil, Salone (Blum: earth tones in a richer, more expressive version) 4 low Szary kaszmir (Grey Cashmere; shade to be confirmed)
Warm wood (oak or walnut) EGGER, Kronospan, Salone (Schattdecor, Blum) 3 low Dąb Halifax naturalny (Natural Halifax Oak), Orzech Lincoln (Lincoln Walnut), Dąb olejowany (Oiled Oak), Orzech amerykański (American Walnut)
Matt EGGER, Kronospan, Salone (Blum) 3 low Biały mat (Matt White)
Darker tones Kronospan, Heimtextil, Salone (Schattdecor) 3 medium Beton ciemny (Dark Concrete) in a small dose
Travertine and beige stone EGGER, Salone (Schattdecor, Blum) 2 medium not in our range
Bold accents, red marble Heimtextil, Salone (Blum, Schattdecor) 2 high better in accessories than on fronts
White Pantone 1 low Biały mat (Matt White) as a background
Matt with a mirror-like gloss EGGER 1 high not in our range

Chart: how many of the five sources point to each furniture trend direction for 2026, and how we rate the risk of it looking dated

Method and evidence: what we count as pointing to a direction

We count a mention when a source names a colour, material or finish directly in the description of a collection, palette or trend. We do not count photos alone or products without a description. Below are the sentences behind each number (in English in the original).

  • Beiges and warm neutral colours (4): EGGER: "a fashionable palette of beiges" (via Abler); Kronospan: "cozy and comforting neutral hues" (Pause) and K5981 Cashmere in the Beige family; Heimtextil 26/27: "sand, clay"; Blum: "Earth tones are still favourites on the colour scale, but are more rich and expressive in 2026".
  • Warm wood (3): EGGER: "warm brown tones" (via Abler); Kronospan: Cremona Oak, "natural wood warmth"; Salone: Schattdecor, "Walnut is moving firmly upmarket", and Blum, "wooden textures".
  • Matt (3): EGGER: ST17 Omnipore Oiled, "creating a completely matt look"; Kronospan: "matt finishes"; Blum: "matt natural textures".
  • Darker tones (3): Kronospan: "Cool, dark tones" (Connect); Heimtextil 26/27: "soot"; Schattdecor: Paladina, "From cool greys to deep browns".
  • Travertine and beige stone (2): EGGER: F030 ST75 Travertine Margalida and F129 PA Granite Ambiance beige; Salone: Schattdecor, "Travertine remains a central design element", and Blum, "Stone (like travertine)".
  • Bold accents, red marble (2): Heimtextil 26/27: "digital irritation"; Salone: Blum, "Bold colour accents to create deliberate highlights are this season's must-have", and Schattdecor, "Red marble was one of Milan's most exciting developments".
  • White (1): Pantone: PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer.
  • Matt with a mirror-like gloss (1): EGGER: the PerfectSense Ambiance decor combines "the velvety matt quality of the PerfectSense series with striking mirror-like elements".

Three of the four most frequently mentioned directions are in the title of this article, and we cover darker tones in the study combination.

Where the sources differ and what follows from it

The sources do not speak with one voice. Here are four disagreements we noticed, with our conclusion for made-to-measure furniture.

Topic One side The other side Our conclusion
White or beige Pantone: Cloud Dancer white EGGER and Kronospan: beiges and muted neutral colours white for large volumes as a background, cashmere or wood where you want warmth
Muted or bold colours EGGER and Kronospan: muted colours Blum: earth tones richer and more expressive, and bold accents a must this season; Heimtextil: earthy colours next to digital irritation fronts in neutral colours, strong colour in accessories
Calm or expressive wood Kronospan: Cremona oak in muted shades Schattdecor: walnut with a lively, striped grain calm oak for large surfaces, expressive walnut for a desk or chest of drawers
Matt or gloss EGGER (ST17) and Blum: matt; Kronospan: matt finishes EGGER PerfectSense Ambiance: matt with mirror-like elements; Kronospan: alongside matt, also FeelNess in high gloss (ultra matt & high gloss) matt as the base; we do not offer gloss or a mirror effect

In the reports we downloaded, we found none of the style names known from blogs, such as Japandi or organic modern. Kronospan instead describes four interior moods:

  • Pause: soft textures, muted colours and cosy neutral shades.
  • Blend: a mix of warm and cool tones with soft and raw textures.
  • Connect: cool, dark tones and expressive stones.
  • Evolve: organic forms, curved lines and linear wood patterns.

We use these moods below for the bedroom, living room and study combinations.

What about Japandi, organic modern and minimalism?

The popular style names translate into the same directions. Japandi combines Japanese and Scandinavian minimalism: light wood, muted colours and little decoration. Organic modern relies on natural materials, soft, rounded forms and warm neutral colours. Minimalism means plain fronts and a limited palette.

Our interpretation: Japandi is closest to the Pause mood, and organic modern to the Evolve mood. From our range, you can put together Japandi with Jesion bielony (Bleached Ash) and Biały mat (Matt White), organic modern with Dąb olejowany (Oiled Oak) and Szary kaszmir (Grey Cashmere), and minimalism with Biały mat alone.

Beige and warm neutrals: furniture colours for 2026

Beige is the best-documented furniture colour for 2026 in these sources. In its 26+ collection, EGGER writes about a fashionable palette of beiges in plain decors and in stone reproductions. In its trend collection, Kronospan goes for muted colours and the beige decor K5981 Cashmere.

EGGER justifies this choice by saying that "shades of beige are the ideal choice for creating cosy interiors with a warm and gentle atmosphere". In the beige part of the collection, the manufacturer lists, among others, U220 ST9 Velvet Beige, U115 ST9 Carat Beige and F030 ST75 Travertine Margalida. Kronospan describes its K5981 Cashmere as a calm, neutral colour with organic grey-brown nuances that change with the light. A shade between grey and beige is commonly called greige.

The same direction appears outside the board industry. Heimtextil describes its 26/27 palette with shades of sand, clay and tree bark, and Blum writes after Salone del Mobile 2026 that earth tones are still favourites, but richer and more expressive in 2026. Pantone goes in a slightly different direction: its colour of the year for 2026 is the white Cloud Dancer. How to reconcile white with beige is shown in the table of disagreements near the start of this article.

Which of our decors fit the beige direction

The Furniture Lab range has no decor with beige in its name. Three decors come closest to this direction:

  • Szary kaszmir (Grey Cashmere, laminated board): a neutral colour whose name comes from the same family as Cashmere at Kronospan. Whether it looks warmer or cooler only a sample will show.
  • Biały mat (Matt White, laminated board): white for the background, in the same direction as Cloud Dancer.
  • Jesion bielony (Bleached Ash, veneer): light, real wood to combine with white and cashmere.

The name of a decor does not yet tell you how it will look in your home. Before you decide, do a sample test in your home lighting, preferably in the morning and in the evening by the same window.

Warm oaks and walnut: furniture board decors for 2026

Wood in the 2026 trends has a warmer tone and more often a plain, linear grain. According to the distributor Abler, EGGER is introducing "wood reproductions with a linear grain in the Italian style", accompanied by "warm brown tones". After Salone del Mobile 2026, Schattdecor wrote that walnut is clearly moving upmarket.

One of EGGER's novelties is the decor H1316 ST17 Bookmatch Oak. Its grain pattern is 3,000 mm long and, according to the manufacturer, repeats "only every 17 boards or so". The decor won the iF Design Award 2026, the Red Dot Award 2025 and the Interzum Award 2025. Two other oaks from this collection, H1385 Casella Oak natural and H1386 Casella Oak brown, joined the Feelwood worktop portfolio in the ST40 structure. In the description of the 26+ collection, EGGER also lists walnuts in the ST17 structure: H7586 ST17 Alba Walnut tobacco and H7604 ST17 Dimaro Walnut natural.

Kronospan moves in a similar direction. It describes Cremona Oak as a decor with muted shades and the natural warmth of wood, shows Primavera oak in its trend collection and mentions linear wood patterns in the Evolve mood. It is easy to get lost in manufacturer codes such as H1316 ST17. We explain how to decode a decor and structure code in a separate guide.

Oiled veneer: the wood that laminates imitate

Veneer is a thin sheet of real wood glued onto a board, so every front has its own grain pattern. In describing its novelties, EGGER itself refers to oiled wood and veneer. It describes the new ST17 Omnipore Oiled structure as having "an effect remarkably close to the look of oiled wood", and on the Bookmatch Oak page it writes that this is a "book-matched wood pattern that could previously only be achieved with veneers on large structures such as sliding doors or wall cladding".

If, for you, the natural trend is about wood itself and not a faithful reproduction of it, veneer is the simplest answer. In our range these are Dąb olejowany (Oiled Oak), Orzech amerykański (American Walnut, oiled) and Jesion bielony (Bleached Ash). Warm wood in laminated board is Dąb Halifax naturalny (Natural Halifax Oak) and Orzech Lincoln (Lincoln Walnut). We leave a comparison of the two materials for durability and price to a separate article. For the 2026 trends, it is enough to know that both fit the warm wood direction. How to look after an oiled surface is described in our guide to safe cleaning products for veneer and laminate.

Matt instead of gloss: where matt fronts make sense

Matt is the third direction that repeats across the sources. According to Abler, EGGER is expanding its plain palette in matt lacquered products and changing the TM9 PerfectSense Smoothtouch Matt structure to TM PerfectSense Matt. Kronospan lists matt finishes, although the same collection also shows FeelNess boards in high gloss. Blum's report from Milan lists matt natural textures among the 2026 trends.

Matt is no longer limited to plain colours. EGGER writes that the ST17 Omnipore Oiled structure combines a microstructure with low gloss, "creating a completely matt look", and on the Bookmatch Oak page it adds that the gloss is low "even in the pores". All ST17 decors listed in the 26+ collection are wood reproductions.

With matt, check two things that the manufacturer itself states in its description of the PerfectSense range. EGGER attributes anti-fingerprint properties to its matt lacquered surfaces. For the TM variant on particleboard, it states: "Horizontal use: not recommended". These are lacquered boards, not the laminate in our range, but the questions are the same: does the matt surface pick up fingerprints, and is it suitable for a worktop?

The 2026 trends also cover the shape and texture of furniture. In its report from Salone del Mobile 2026, Blum lists matt natural textures, striped or grooved surfaces and asymmetric details. In the Evolve mood, Kronospan describes organic forms, curved lines and surfaces that invite touch.

Form direction What the sources write What it may look like in furniture (our interpretation)
Fluting and slats Blum: striped or grooved surfaces a front milled with vertical grooves, or slats on part of a front
Rounded and organic forms Kronospan (Evolve): organic forms, curved lines rounded worktop corners, an arched cut-out instead of a handle, an oval table top
Asymmetry Blum: asymmetric details an uneven division of fronts, a shelf offset from the axis
Hidden doors and modules Blum: elegantly concealed doors, modular furniture and wall units a wall unit with fronts without visible handles, a cabinet built from modules
Timelessness Blum: a timeless look instead of gadgets a simple form, with the trend in the decor, which is easier to judge on a sample

The sources also differ in their approach to pattern. For the Bookmatch Oak, EGGER stresses "authentic and elegant symmetry", while Blum praises asymmetric details. Our conclusion: leave symmetry to the decor and asymmetry to the division of the fronts, but do not combine both in one piece of furniture.

In this article we concentrate on decors. Whether a given model has milled fronts, rounded corners or push-to-open doors, you can check on its product page.

The easiest directions to adopt are those pointed to by at least three sources and that we rate as low risk: beige, warm wood and matt. Darker tones also have three sources, but they date faster, so keep them for one piece of furniture. In practice, that means a neutral background (Biały mat or Szary kaszmir) and one warm wood. Bring a trend in where it is easy to judge and hard to tire of.

  1. Choose a background for the large volumes. For a wardrobe and a tall bookcase, take Biały mat (Matt White) or Szary kaszmir (Grey Cashmere). A 240 cm wardrobe in Matt White against a light wall blends into the background.
  2. Pick one wood for the smaller pieces. Dąb Halifax naturalny (Natural Halifax Oak), Orzech Lincoln (Lincoln Walnut) or a veneer for a chest of drawers, TV unit or desk. Two different woods in one room start to compete with each other.
  3. Pair matt with grain. A plain front next to wood is a simple way to combine textures. Blum lists matt natural textures among the trends from Milan.
  4. Move strong colour to accessories. Blum calls bold colour accents a must-have this season. On a wardrobe front they are hard to change; on a cushion or a lamp it takes a few minutes.
  5. Compare samples and check the price. Judge the decors in the morning and in the evening by the same window, then set the dimension to the nearest 1 cm on the product page.

The simplest way to combine two colours is between pieces of furniture, for example a bookcase in Matt White and a chest of drawers in wood.

Decision table to print: trend → decor → furniture

Print this table and put it next to your samples, or download the PDF version with the decision table and the table of disagreements. In brackets we give how many of the five sources point to a given direction. We count oak and walnut separately here, and together as warm wood (3) in the matrix.

Trend 2026 (sources of 5) Furniture Lab decor Where on the furniture Example piece
Beiges and warm neutrals (4) Szary kaszmir (Grey Cashmere), laminate large volumes, wardrobe fronts Szafa Kolumna wardrobe
Warm oak (2: EGGER, Kronospan) Dąb Halifax naturalny (Natural Halifax Oak), laminate; Dąb olejowany (Oiled Oak), veneer low furniture, table top Szafka RTV Niska TV unit
Walnut (2: EGGER, Schattdecor) Orzech Lincoln (Lincoln Walnut), laminate; Orzech amerykański (American Walnut), veneer desk, chest of drawers Biurko Rama desk
Matt (3) and white (1) Biały mat (Matt White), laminate wardrobe, tall bookcase Regał Linea bookcase
Light wood to go with beiges and white Jesion bielony (Bleached Ash), veneer chest of drawers, bedside tables Komoda Fala chest of drawers, Szafka nocna Mila bedside table
Darker tones (3) Beton ciemny (Dark Concrete), laminate one piece of furniture in a room —
Bold accents (2) no decor from the range cushions, lamps, pictures not applicable

"If…, then…" scenarios (our recommendations based on the tables above):

  • If the floor is in warm wood, show the wood in the furniture in one low piece and order the large volumes in Matt White or Grey Cashmere.
  • If the room is small or dark, keep Dark Concrete for a small piece, for example a bench, and choose a light wardrobe and bookcase.
  • If you want real wood and not a reproduction, choose a veneer: Oiled Oak, Bleached Ash or American Walnut.

In a small flat, keep to one background and one wood across the whole floor area. Large volumes in a light colour, and wood in one or two low pieces. We have drawn up separately how to fit a bed, a desk and a wardrobe into 25 m².

On a smaller budget, you can bring in the trend with one piece of furniture instead of a whole built-in unit. See the Mila bedside table; you can check the current price on the product page or in the configurator.

3 ready-made combinations: living room, bedroom, study

The combinations below pair products from the Furniture Lab shop with the 2026 directions. Prices come from the product pages and apply to the default dimensions, without any surcharge for the decor. The decors are our suggestions, and you can check their availability for a given piece on its page. You can set every piece except the Mila bedside table to the nearest 1 cm, and the price updates live in the configurator.

Furniture trends 2026: an indicative colour palette of three combinations from the Furniture Lab range for a living room, bedroom and study

The colours in the graphic are indicative. They are not samples or photos of our boards and veneers, so check the shade on a sample.

Living room: warm oak against white

The closest mood from the Kronospan collection (our match): Blend, a mix of warm and cool tones. Here, warm wood stands next to white.

  • Szafka RTV Niska (low TV unit), 180 × 42 × 48 cm; suggested decor: Dąb Halifax naturalny (Natural Halifax Oak, laminate). It has cable openings in the back panel.
  • Regał Linea (bookcase), 120 × 35 × 200 cm; suggested decor: Biały mat (Matt White, laminate).

A version closer to the natural trend: the TV unit in Dąb olejowany (Oiled Oak) veneer.

If you are planning a whole wall unit around a television, see five TV furniture layouts with dimensions.

Bedroom: cashmere and light ash

The closest mood from the Kronospan collection (our match): Pause, meaning muted, cosy neutral colours.

  • Szafa Kolumna (wardrobe), 100 × 60 × 240 cm; suggested decor: Szary kaszmir (Grey Cashmere, laminate). You configure the interior with a rail and shelves yourself, and we write about planning a built-in wardrobe on the page about wardrobes designed for an alcove.
  • Komoda Fala (chest of drawers), 160 × 45 × 78 cm; suggested decor: Jesion bielony (Bleached Ash, veneer).
  • Szafka nocna Mila (bedside table), 45 × 38 × 52 cm (fixed dimension); suggested decor: Jesion bielony (Bleached Ash, veneer), if it is available for this model.

Study: walnut and a darker grey

The closest mood from the Kronospan collection (our match): Connect, meaning cool, dark tones.

  • Biurko Rama (desk), 140 × 70 × 75 cm; suggested decor: Orzech amerykański (American Walnut, veneer) or the laminate Orzech Lincoln (Lincoln Walnut).
  • Regał Linea (bookcase), 120 × 35 × 200 cm; suggested decor: Beton ciemny (Dark Concrete, laminate).

This is the boldest of the three combinations. A dark bookcase 200 cm high breaks the rule of light large volumes, so in a small room choose the bookcase in Matt White. Three sources point to darker tones, among them Schattdecor, which writes about the return of the classic Paladina pattern in shades from cool greys to deep browns.

Want to see what your dimension costs? Open the Regał Linea configurator, enter the width and height of your alcove and compare prices in several decors. You will find the other pieces in the chests of drawers category and on the made-to-measure furniture page.

Not every 2026 trend is worth ordering in a piece of furniture meant to last years. The most striking proposals may date fastest: red marble, intense colour accents and combinations of matt with a mirror-like gloss. For comparison, according to Abler, the novelties from the EGGER 26+ collection will stay in the range for at least four years. You order made-to-measure furniture for longer than one season, so the rule is simple: the louder the effect, the smaller the surface. The number of sources for each direction is shown in our matrix near the start of the article.

Our assessment of what may date quickly:

  1. Strong colour on large fronts. Schattdecor called red marble one of the most exciting developments in Milan. On a 240 cm wardrobe, you will live with such a colour for years.
  2. Matt-and-gloss effects, as in the EGGER PerfectSense Ambiance decors. They look striking, but are easily tied to one particular season.
  3. A very expressive grain on many fronts side by side. EGGER promotes the Bookmatch Oak precisely by saying that the pattern repeats only every 17 boards or so. With decors that lack this feature, the repeat may be visible on a long built-in unit.
  4. Concrete as the main colour. Stone in the 2026 sources is mainly travertine and beige granite (EGGER F030 ST75 Travertine Margalida and F129 PA Granite Ambiance beige, travertine at Schattdecor and in the Blum report). We found no concrete decor among the novelties described, so treat our Beton ciemny (Dark Concrete) as one element, not the theme of a whole room.

The least risky directions are those with at least three sources and a low risk rating in the matrix: calm beige, warm wood and matt. Darker tones also have three sources, but we rate the risk as medium. White has only Pantone behind it, but as a background for wood it is hard to tire of.

The palettes are already changing. Heimtextil announced its 27/28 trends under the title "Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living", for the fair on 12–15 January 2027. The palette descriptions include cool blues and greens, graphite and anthracite with strong red, and rust red and orange (as of 16.09.2026). You will replace accessories faster than fronts at the next change of palettes.

What furniture colours are fashionable in 2026?

In 2026, beiges, earth tones and the warm browns of wood are fashionable. In its 26+ collection, EGGER describes a fashionable palette of beiges, and Heimtextil lists sand, clay and tree bark. Pantone chose the white Cloud Dancer, which is best treated as a background. The reports treat strong colours as accents.

Is white furniture still fashionable in 2026?

Yes. The Pantone Colour of the Year 2026 is the white PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, announced on 4 December 2025. In furniture, white works well as a background for warm wood, for example Matt White on the wardrobe and oak on the chest of drawers.

Is oak still fashionable?

Yes, but in a warmer version. In its 26+ collection, EGGER introduced the award-winning H1316 ST17 Bookmatch Oak and the Casella oaks, and Kronospan shows Cremona and Primavera oaks. In our range, this direction is represented by Dąb Halifax naturalny (Natural Halifax Oak, laminate) and Dąb olejowany (Oiled Oak, veneer).

What furniture will be fashionable in 2026?

Furniture in beiges, warm wood and matt, with simple forms and a tangible texture. After Salone del Mobile 2026, Blum lists striped or grooved surfaces, asymmetric details and modular furniture, and Kronospan lists organic forms and curved lines.

Matt or gloss for fronts in 2026?

Rather matt. EGGER is expanding its plain palette in matt lacquered products and introducing the matt ST17 Omnipore Oiled structure, and Blum lists matt natural textures. Kronospan shows matt finishes, although its collection also includes FeelNess in high gloss. Before you buy, ask how well the matt surface resists fingerprints.

Does Furniture Lab have decors from the EGGER 26+ collection?

We do not claim that. Our decors, for example Natural Halifax Oak and Grey Cashmere, fit the 2026 directions, but we do not present them as novelties from the 26+ collection.

Furniture trends 2026 come down to three decisions. Choose a light, calm background: Matt White or Grey Cashmere. Put the accent on one warm wood: Halifax Oak, Lincoln Walnut or a veneer. Leave strong colours and mirror effects to accessories. Before you order, compare samples in your own light.

You set the dimension and decor on the product page, for example on the page of the Szafa Kolumna wardrobe. Production takes up to 10 working days, courier delivery is free throughout Poland, and every piece of furniture has a 24-month guarantee. You will find more articles about interior design in the Interior design category.

How this article was made: we downloaded the pages of manufacturers, trade fair organisers and Pantone on 15 September 2026, and checked the key quotes and codes again before publication. We give quotes from Polish-language pages in quotation marks, translated here from the Polish. We summarise English-language sources in our own translation without quotation marks, with the original term in brackets; only original names and English sentences stay in quotation marks. Prices come from the Furniture Lab product pages and apply to the default dimensions. The interpretations and risk ratings are the editors' opinion. We prepared the graphics with the palette and the chart ourselves; the colours in them are indicative.
